Editor Charles Friedberg has gathered the papers published as a symposium in Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases, added a few new ones, and put them between hard covers. It provides a splendid opportunity to become reacquainted with ones fingers, eyes, and ears—in the diagnosis of heart disease. Through the wonders of electronics, physical signs have been correlated with physiological events, and new meaning is provided to events that can be detected with the senses. This is an excellent compilation of the current state of the art.
