This slender monograph of 233 pages is a reprint in hard covers of the January 1970 issue of Modern Treatment. The editor and author of five of the 13 chapters is Noble O. Fowler. Although the title of the symposium is "The Treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmias" the relevant pathologic physiology, the electrocardiographic and clinical diagnostic aspects are concisely and competently summarized.

Each chapter deals with a specific arrhythmia: "Digitalis Induced Arrhythmias" by Te-Chuan Chou, "The Use of Propanolol (Inderal) in the Treatment and Prevention of Cardiac Arrhythmias" by Donald C. Harrison, "Prevention and Treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmias Complicating Acute Myocardial Infarction" by Gene F. Conway, "The Use of D. C. Shock in the Treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmias" by Leonard S. Dreifus, and "Cardiac Resuscitation" by John C. Holmes concludes the presentation.
