This excellent monograph is well organized for the purpose of orienting and educating the surgeon and anesthesiologist to electronic equipment in the areas of monitoring, measuring, and scanning. This book contains (A) "Recording Systems and Signals," (B) "Pressure Transducers and Myograph," (C) "Measurement of Respiratory Function," (D) "Measurement of Blood Flow," (E) "Electrodes," (F) "Gas and Vapor Analysis," (G) "Electrode Systems for pH, Pco2, Po2," (H) "Cardiac Output," (I) "Defibrillators," (J) "Pacemakers," (K) "Diathermy and Electrical Safety," (L) "Temperature," and (M) "Isotopes." Electronic Measurement Techniques in Anaesthesia and Surgery is based on the author's lecture series. The references are largely British and equipment as well, but most of the common or popular American equipment is covered adequately.

There are up-to-date references at the end of each chapter and a good index at the end of the book, clear line drawings to illustrate the principles involved in most
