Cancer Chemotherapy is the first of the monographs in a new series of discussions entitled "Major Problems in Internal Medicine." Whether the medical profession needs a new publication of this ilk to add to the several already available, only the market place can decide. However, this particular text is clearly written and informative, which speaks well for the editorial hand which presumably will guide future issues.

The general outline of the subject matter follows an established pattern which readers of books and book reviews in this area will recognize. Cline has filled in the outline better than most. He introduces the topic with general principles of chemotherapy which have evolved over the past decade. This is followed by the pharmacology of the agents involved. He then describes the therapy of the more common solid tumors of adult and childhood as well as the lymphomas and leukemias. In the chapters on
