Abstract

This is a series of color photographs of fundi from patients with hypertension and other assorted retinal diseases with accompanying explanatory diagrams and text. The foreword offers the rather startling boast: "These figures are superior to those published in Europe and America." To my internist eye this is not exactly true. The background color of most of the retinal photographs appears muddier than others I have seen, and in many instances the focus lacks sharpness. There is variation in retinal color from one photograph to another as though different types of film and exposure were employed. The spectrum of pathology is amply covered.
