Factor VII, Not Factor VIII.  —In the GUEST EDITORIAL by Peter H. Levine, MD, titled, "Emergency Search for a Bleeding Diathesis: The Internist as a Coagulation Consultant," published in the September Archives (130:445-446, 1972), factor VIII was given where factor VII was intended in the first column on page 446. The statement in lines 29 and 30 should have read, "The sequence of activation involves factors VII, X, II (prothrombin), and I (fibrinogen)."
