For this fifteenth volume of Progress in Allergy, A. de Weck, MD, has joined P. Kallós, MD, and B.H. Waksman, MD, as an editor. This addition reflects the accelerating pace of publication of this distinguished series, now in its 30th year. It now appears annually. It is a reflection of the mounting number of publications in both fundamental and clinical aspects of immunology and allergology; it indicates the need for more frequent, thoughtful compilations and distillations of the literature.

Like its predecessors, this book presents a broad range of topics. Clinicians will find the review by T.L. Vischer of "Immunologic Aspects of Chronic Hepatitis" particularly interesting. The author proposes to relate the histological entity, "chronic aggressive hepatitis," to the various clinical syndromes that can give rise to this same picture.
