In this entirely new textbook, Williams, Beutler, Erslev, and Rundles have called on 90 eminently qualified colleagues to assist them in presenting the sum of man's current knowledge in the field of hematology. Several approaches were necessary for a review of such magnitude. First, sections of special personal interest were read in entirety. The portions devoted to hemostasis and coagulation are impeccable in precision, information, and style of presentation. Each topic presented is a miniature compendium of factual and theoretical material, thoroughly relevant, and completely up to date. Careful editing in these sections has blended the contributions of multiple authors into a cohesive, integrated unit having the quality of a fine monograph.
