This fine text, which is concerned with fundamental and clinical studies of bleomycin, is a recent example of the excellent Gann series of monographs on cancer research, initiated in 1966 by the late Dr Tomizo Yoshida, the world-renowned cancer researchist. As is the case with previous texts in this series, this book is compact but complete, and covers the topic in all important facets. It is flawlessly printed on high gloss paper, and excellently illustrated and referenced.

In this volume, the topic of bleomycin has been appropriately divided into fundamental and clinical studies; approximately one third of the volume is devoted to basic studies of the chemistry and mechanism of action of bleomycin and its effects on cell kinetics, while the remainder of the volume is devoted to individual reviews of the uses of bleomycin in the treatment of various human neoplasms.
