Methazolamide-Induced Hepatitis and Pure RBC Aplasia

• A patient received methazolamide (Neptazane) therapy. Three weeks after initiation of the therapy, a protracted jaundice with intrahepatic cholestasis developed, and five weeks later a pure RBC aplasia developed. There was total recovery from both conditions.
