Abstract

• A pseudomonal abscess within a mural thrombus developed in an elderly man at the site of myocardial infarction and left ventricular aneurysm formation. High-dose antipseudomonal drugs required a prolonged period to sterilize the bloodstream. Technical advances and higher indexes of suspicion may improve diagnosis of both sterile and infected cardiac mural thrombi.
