In Reply.  —Dr Courdi is correct in his definition of specificity. However, it is still true that the prediction of resistance by the in vitro assay is accurate 95% to 99% of the time, and the accuracy of a prediction of drug sensitivity is in the 60% to 65% range. On this basis, it is still true that the assay is better at identifying drugs to which a tumor is resistant.
