Abstract

In Reply.  —Dr Chahinian has noted a previous case report of a response of parathyroid carcinoma in a patient treated with methotrexate, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and lomustine. The possibility that parathyroid carcinoma may be tumor sensitive to chemotherapy does exist; however, the case reported by the author cannot be said to be parathyroid cancer for certain. The difficulties involved in making this diagnosis in the absence of hypercalcemia are multiple. It is, however, interesting to note that other evidence may exist that this tumor may be sensitive to such treatment.
