To the Editor. — Kaplan's article in the July 1989 issue of the Archives1 presents convincing evidence for hyperinsulinemia being central to a deadly quartet of hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, obesity of the upper body, and glucose intolerance.
Perhaps this quartet can be more easily remembered as the HHOG syndrome.
