Abstract

In writing this article,1 it was not our intent to emphasize the clinical impact of inaccuracies on patient care. However, we agree with the statement by Eckman and Pauker that the use of the prothrombin time ratio introduces needless uncertainty in the true level of anticoagulant intensity and this can translate into higher risks and/or costs.
