Gow and Mutimer have raised an interesting point regarding the cause of fulminant non–A-G hepatitis, suggesting that the major cause of this disorder is not necessarily viral and that there are multiple possible etiologies. In our article1 the title particularly refers to viral causes of fulminant hepatitis, and we only suggested the possibility of a viral etiology without definite implication, as do many other reports in the literature, including that of Liang et al.2
