In Care of Patients

I enjoyed reading the recent article by Dr Dalen1 in the ARCHIVES titled, "Health Care in America: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." Although I have been retired a few years, I've seen enough of colleagues who work in a state of emotional depression and discouragement or even cynicism. For me the key sentence in Dr Dalen's article was the following: "Physicians have lost the ability to guide the care of their patients."
