The Use of Practitioner Education and a Warfarin Monitoring Service to Improve Anticoagulation Practices

The recent article by Bungard et al1 described performance related to anticoagulation of patients with atrial fibrillation and explored explanations for the low incidence of anticoagulation in this population that clearly benefits from effective warfarin therapy. A recently published description of a quality improvement project described improved incidence of effective anticoagulation for patients with atrial fibrillation.2
