Abstract

This commendable volume, prepared under the general direction of Charles Rob of Rochester, NY, and Rodney Smith of London, is edited by Dr. Valentine Logue who is one of the world's foremost neurosurgeons. As the title suggests, this is a compendium of neurosurgical operative considerations and procedures. It is one of a series of volumes covering various surgical specialities and subspecialties.

A respectable number of surgeons, experienced and expert in the various phases of neurological surgery, have contributed chapters in each of their respective spheres of interest, capability, and experience.

Craniocerebral trauma and its management are considered in separate chapters by five neurosurgeons, and indeed, the matter is covered admirably in virtually all its aspects.

Surgery of brain tumors is similarly covered rather impressively by several surgeons, each an authority in the particular sphere he considers.

Epilepsy and its surgical management are confined here to anterior temporal lobectomy and
