Abstract

Dr. Gardner, neurosurgeon emeritus of the Cleveland clinic, here sums up his surgical experience in treating syringomyelia and related states. From that experience he sets forth his hydromyelic theory of the cause of syringomyelia. The result is a highly personal essay capping the career of an ingenious and imaginative clinical observer.
