References for "History of Neurology: Seminal Citations" Series

Arch Neurol. 2002;59(5):874-875. doi:

I have enjoyed the "History of Neurology: Seminal Citations" series. It provides a useful brief source of information on neurologic topics of current relevance with citations to primary sources.1 Although the current format focuses on early references, it would seem useful to enrich the series with citations to pertinent secondary sources, especially recent analytic historical articles and in-depth discussions on the same topic.24 This approach will alert readers to previous historical work on the topic, increase the level of historical scholarship in the series, limit redundant publication, and ensure the proper attribution of previous work that was the foundation or framework for the historical material summarized in the series.
