Jeffrey L. Cummings, MD, and Michael S. Mega, MD, PhD, 406 pp, $99.95, New York, NY, Oxford University Press, 2003.
This book takes up where Sigmund Freud1 left off. It attempts to explicate the relationships between brain and behavior. Lacking the proper tools, Freud abandoned this task. Instead he developed a psychology of the mind, although he predicted that one day a physiology of the mind would develop from our increased knowledge of brain function. To what extent have Cummings and Mega succeeded in Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience?
