We appreciate the interest taken by Bianchin et al in our recently published article. As mentioned in the discussion, our findings of a sex difference in outcome do not have a clear explanation. Although the main objective of the study was to explore if there were racial/ethnic differences in seizure outcome following temporal lobe epilepsy surgery, the findings of sex difference in outcome was something that needed to be reported.
