Incidence Studies on Open-Angle Glaucoma

Arch Ophthalmol. 2002;120(4):522. doi:

In the January 2001 issue of the ARCHIVES, Leske et al1 published an interesting report from the Barbados Incidence Study of Eye Diseases. There have been few population-based studies reporting longitudinal data on open-angle glaucoma (OAG). The Barbados Incidence Study of Eye Diseases and the study by Bengtsson,2 in Dalby, Sweden, report data on very different populations. It might be interesting to compare these data with a population-based cohort study from the central part of Sweden, where pseudoexfoliation is quite common.3
