Stephen G. Slade and Chiron Vision Corp, with Digital Interactive Computerized Education Inc, have produced a CD-ROM that is designed to introduce surgeons and technicians to the laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) procedure. A collage of lecture slides and audiotapes recorded during a LASIK training course delivered by Slade, slides and audio prepared specifically for this CD-ROM, surgery videotape, and keratome footage make up this 2-volume disk set. It covers topics ranging from the assembly and care of Chiron's keratomes (Chiron Vision Corp, Claremont, Calif), through laser and lamellar keratectomy techniques, to the management of surgical complications.
