In the volume Excimer Lasers in Ophthalmology: Principles and Practice, Drs McGhee, Taylor, Gartry, and Trokel have successfully synthesized the immense body of information regarding this discipline into a readable text and complete reference. The text provides a continuum of excimer laser surgery from its history through its current application. Each chapter is written by authorities in their given field with respect to content. Unlike many multiauthored texts, this one in particular demonstrates cohesiveness, without redundancy from chapter to chapter. Each chapter is comprehensive, written with excellent prose and supported by timely photographs, understandable figures, and extensive references. Published in 1997, the book is extremely up-to-date and a great deal of forethought is evidenced by recent data that postdates its publication.
