A. BLODIBARBARAMDL. GOTTLIEBJUSTINMD
This third edition includes new knowledge regarding Graves disease and thyroid ophthalmopathy, which has developed since the second edition was published in 1990. As in the previous edition, the format and scope of this book provides a short, readable monograph that lucidly discusses basic mechanisms and patient management. Besides updating the content, the page format is changed from 2 vertical columns to 1 column. This third edition consists of 14 chapters, 1 more chapter than in the second edition, (the earlier chapter 4 has been expanded into 2 chapters) while the chapter titles and order remain unchanged. Most chapters have a conclusion section at the end to nicely summarize their respective contents, and help the reader to understand and organize the material. All of the chapters also include an increased number of references, reflecting published new articles since the second edition.
