Evaluating New Retinal Imaging Techniques

Arch Ophthalmol. 1999;117(6):847. doi:

In reply

The letter by Freeman et al1 provides comments on an editorial2 recently published in the ARCHIVES. The editorial provided guidelines on what a researcher (or an ophthalmologist reading a report from that researcher) should consider when evaluating new retinal imaging techniques to determine if these technologies should be incorporated into clinical practice. The editorial is provided as a tool for readers to critically evaluate reports such as the article by Freeman et al1; it is not a critique of the article.
