Dr Yablonski mentions 2 excellent publications that helped shape ourunderstanding of predictive factors for primary open-angle glaucoma. The subjectof predictive or risk factors for primary open-angle glaucoma is complex andaccompanied by a voluminous literature. We were unable to reference all ofthe important studies on this subject in our articles.1,2 Inchoosing references, we favored prospective or epidemiological studies withlarge samples. This in no way detracts from the major contributions of Hartet al3 and Yablonski et al4 tothis important subject.
