We thank Vavra and colleagues for their interest and comments on our recent article.1

We also thank them for describing our results in terms of sensitivity and specificity when the detection of an obvious flap edge on slitlamp examination or the presence of highly reflective stromal particles with specular microscopy are used for screening. For an obvious flap edge, the 95% confidence interval could also be added for the calculated sensitivity (28%-67%) and for the specificity (88%-100%). For highly reflective stromal particles, the 95% confidence interval for the calculated sensitivity is 70%-98% and for the specificity, 80%-99.9%.
