Alternative Approach to the Treatment of Subepithelial Fibrosis Following Radial Keratotomy

Arch Ophthalmol. 2006;124(2):288. doi:10.1001/archopht.124.2.288

We enjoyed the article by Patel et al1 entitled “Histopathology of Radial Keratotomy” in the January issue of the ARCHIVES that described a case of severe central subepithelial fibrosis following radial keratotomy. We would like to compliment the authors on bringing this rare but potentially visually disabling complication of radial keratotomy to the attention of our colleagues. We also appreciate the reference to our articles describing the use of topical mitomycin C (MMC) for the treatment of this condition.2,3
