Error in Figure and Text in: A Randomized Trial Comparing the Efficacy and Safety of Intravitreal Triamcinolone With Standard Care to Treat Vision Loss Associated With Macular Edema Secondary to Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion

Arch Ophthalmol. 2009;127(12):1655. doi:10.1001/archophthalmol.2009.346

Error in Figure and Text. In the Clinical Trials article titled “A Randomized Trial Comparing the Efficacy and Safety of Intravitreal Triamcinolone With Standard Care to Treat Vision Loss Associated With Macular Edema Secondary to Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion”, published in the September 2009 issue of the Archives (2009;127[9]:1115-1128), there were errors in the text and in 2 of the figures.

The last sentence of the first paragraph on page 1126 should appear as follows [added words have been italicized]: “Thus, in the SCORE-BRVO trial, it is unlikely that the triamcinolone groups fared no better than the standard care group because of a masking of treatment effect by cataract (as there is no reason to suspect that participants with BRVO are more susceptible to cataract than participants with CRVO) but rather as a result of triamcinolone being compared with an equally efficacious therapy—grid photocoagulation.”
