Dr. William L. Benedict Honored.  —Dr. William L. Benedict, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, was honored by his Alma Mater, the University of Michigan, when the degree of Doctor of Laws was conferred upon him at the University commencement, Ann Arbor, Mich., June 11, 1955.

Dr. Frederick H. Verhoeff Honored.  —The University of Louisville conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Science upon Dr. Frederick H. Verhoeff, Consulting Chief of Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Professor Emeritus of Ophthalmic Research at the Harvard Medical School, on the occasion of its commencement exercises, June 5, 1955.

Appointments in Ophthalmology, University of Pennsylvania.  —The Dean of the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania announces the appointment of Dr. Edmund B. Spaeth, Professor of Ophthalmology and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, as Professor Emeritus of Ophthalmology. The Dean
