The student of ocular motility will welcome this complete review of the heterophorias, based upon a bibliographic point of view. The author presents a full and well-documented survey of the physiology of ocular motility and a complete clear picture of the various forms of heterophoria, with special attention to the hyperphorias and the less common types (insufficiency of divergence, anisophoria, etc.). The work ends with a brief chapter dealing with prisms and the prismatic action of decentration of lenses.

This monograph offers a generous panorama of the world literature on heterophoria, extending to the end of 1956.
