Edited by Prof. Dr. Fritz Hollwich, this collection, published in Germany, contains sections by oculists especially interested in problems of extraocular muscle balance. The chapters are as follows:
C. Cüppers: Possibilities and Limitations of Pleoptic Therapy
W. Doden: The Investigation of Strabismus
H. Gortz: Training in Binocular Vision, Orthoptics
F. Hollwich: The Surgical Management of Horizontal Strabismus
P. A. Jaensch: The Evolution of the Diagnosis and Treatment of Strabismus
O. Klemm: Surprisingly Gratifying Functional Improvement in Adults Operated Upon for Squint
G. Mackensen: The Study of the Amblyopic Eye: Fixation, Visual Acuity, Visual Fields
R. Sachsenweger: The Nature and Treatment of Stereoamblyopia.
There is considerable variation in the quality of the sections. Much emphasis is placed on the sensory factors and their treatment, while comparatively little is said about diagnostic methods and the measurement of ocular deviations. This is not a definitive text, but it will be of interest to
