This book is intended for use as a reference volume by research workers in experimental ophthalmology and the visual sciences. The descriptive anatomy of the orbit and globe, muscles, nervous and vascular elements of the rabbit eye are covered in great detail. In addition, the ultrastructure of the ciliary processes and retina are competently described by Holmberg and Sjöstrand, and Nilsson, respectively.

An authoritative chapter on the chemistry and dynamics of aqueous humor by Kinsey and Reddy will be of great value to all research workers in this field.

Unfortunately, the rest of the book suffers from an inadequate presentation of the biochemistry and physiology of the various ocular structures. These discussions lack clarity and continuity and make poor reading.

The format of the book also leaves much to be desired. Although much useful information is contained in this volume, poor organization makes it difficult to find. For example, it
