Abstract

This is the second volume published under the title Neuro-ophthalmology, Symposium of the University of Miami and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Jan 3-8, 1965. It contains 12 lectures by 16 contributors on various topics in the broad field of neuro-ophthalmology. Apparently it is the intention of the compiler to publish the lectures given at each annual course in neuro-ophthalmology. The publication of this book is justified on the grounds that attendance at each course must be limited, that participants could review the material at their leisure, and that the material could appear in print before it could appear in the majority of medical journals.

After reading this book I am not impressed with new material available of clinical value. In fact, one is left with the opposite impression, ie, how little progress has been made in this field in recent years. Chapters 1, 2, 4, and 5 are research
