Abstract

This volume, sponsored by Italseber Farmaceutici, is the first part of a series on the anatomy and pathology of the eye. The drawings, adequately captioned and described on the facing pages, were prepared by Dr. Vassura for use in the University of Modena in the department of ophthalmology under the direction of Prof Giuseppe Cristini. This beautifully printed book deals with the bony structures, the external muscles, the eyelids, the lacrimal apparatus, the fibrous tunic of the eyeball, and the circulation of the eye and its adnexa. Dr. Vassura's excellent drawings, prepared from his own anatomic studies and from general works on anatomy and ophthalmology, include a number of schematic illustrations. This book is valuable for medical students and others who wish an introduction for further studies in the detailed anatomy underlying clinical ophthalmology.
