Doctor Thornton has compiled an impressive collection of eponymic diseases, syndromes, signs and surgical procedures which certainly must have been a labor of love. It is by far the most comprehensive such work of which I am aware. As might be expected in a detailed listing of unrelated conditions, there are a number of typographical errors, which, although they do not affect the sense of phraseology, nevertheless slightly diminish its otherwise encyclopedic stature. I recommend this book for every ophthalmologist's library.
