A New Cryoextractor

THIS cryoextractor is a small, slender, ophthalmic-sized instrument that is simple in construction, lightweight, well balanced, trouble free, and portable. It is sterilized by flash autoclaving and utilizes a commercial coolant.

The instrument consists of the following parts (Fig 1): (1) a small pencil-thin instrument with silver probe; (2) coaxial tubing with metal connector (Luer-Lok) attached to (3) the coolant in an aerosol container with its reusable valve.

The instrument is a slender cylinder of almost transparent polypropylene, threeeighths inch in diameter and five inches in length. It has a pure silver probe (2 X 10 mm) and heat sink for rapid heat transfer. The barrel contains a chamber into which the liquid Freon flows and pools.
