To the Editor.  —The Hungarian Ophthalmological Society gave its tribute to the memory of Professor Blaskovics at a special meeting on May 30 and 31, 1969, in Debrecen on occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. There are only four more living members of his original staff. Being one of them and living in the United States, I feel it appropriate to commemorate him in this country where he had so many friends and admirers who viewed his fabulous eye surgery and are performing his operations.Blaskovics was born in Hungary, graduated as an MD in 1893, and spent his whole life in Budapest, where he headed the State Eye Hospital, and later the University Eye Hospital. In 1898, he had already published his first book which was the nucleus of his classical ophthalmic surgery, edited in the 1930's. He was terrific in bulbus surgery, but his predilect field
