Abstract

Utilizing the histochemical nucleoside phosphatase reaction, visualization of corneal stromal nerve fibers in rabbit and guinea pig corneas is demonstrated. It is suggested that the nucleoside phosphatase activity resides mainly in the Schwann cells.
