Abstract

Seventeen iridectomy attempts were performed on 16 eyes using ruby, neodymium, and argon lasers. None of these was found suitable for iridectomy formation in blue eyes. Ruby wavelength was found to be the wavelength of choice in brown eyes, yielding a patent iridectomy in six out of six attempts. Attempts with neodymium and argon were disappointing. No severe complications were encountered.
