Abstract

The dedication of this author to the lucid exposition of the clinical presentations and pathophysiology of macular diseases has again produced a book that is an invaluable teaching aid for the resident, fellow, or practicing ophthalmologist. The quality of the photographs and printed text are exceptional.

Some of the classic case presentations from the previous volume were retained, but are nicely augmented by interesting new cases used to display the broader range of clinical presentations now understood for many diseases such as vitelliform degeneration, Stargardt's disease, acute multifocal posterior placoid pigment epitheliopathy, retinitis pigmentosa, macular holes, preretinal membrane, and inflammatory diseases of the vitreous, blood vessels, retina, and choroid.
