Abstract

This is the 15th volume of the Highlights of Ophthalmology, which is now also celebrating its 20th anniversary. These volumes are the results of the efforts of one single man, Dr. Benjamin F. Boyd of Panama. He selects all of the topics and interviews most of the contributors. The breadth and scope of the text is remarkable.

In this volume again the most important and most practical aspects of modern ophthalmology are covered. Each topic is introduced by an expert, many of whom are from the United States. The introduction is followed by a personal interview of the contributing author by the chief editor. In this way, a great deal of practical information is transmitted to the readership. The book is profusely illustrated and contains 40 color-plates. The majority of the topics are of a surgical nature, and especially interesting are the chapters on intraocular lenses. Dr R. Drews of
