This book is composed of 25 chapters contributed by multiple authors. The physical characteristics of the infant orbit and the infant eye are first described. In the second chapter, visual acuity testing is discussed and various tests to check vision in children are listed. The author then discusses the test of choice for determining visual acuity in infants, young children, and older children. Other chapters in the book include "Antimicrobial Therapy," "Adnexal Congenital Deformities," "Nystagmus Surgery," "Extraocular Muscles and Their Anomalies." There are several chapters on congenital cataracts and their treatment and there is a chapter on congenital glaucoma. Other chapters deal with the vitreous and retina in infants and children and their anomalies. The book concludes with a chapter on congenital orbital tumors and orbit surgery. This book should be useful to the general ophthalmologist who has to deal with various ophthalmologic problems in children.
