Abstract

In Reply.  —I was pleased to see that my review of the literature on lens power calculation accuracy was actively read. It is interesting that the only responses were from the president of Sonometrics Systems Inc and two of their major consultants. After being given the opportunity to respond to these letters, I was tempted to allow the reader to draw his own conclusions. This would not be in the reader's best interest, however, since many questions have been raised that should be answered point by point.The major flaw in the comments of Binkhorst is that, to my knowledge, he has not taken the opportunity to evaluate and report on other ultrasound units or formulas. He has never reported on the use of the Kretz 7200 MA or Ossoinig's immersion method.This tends to limit his perspective and could easily bias his opinions of other studies. On the other
