Abstract

The Wilmer Institute Endowed Lectureship.  —The International Center for Epidemiologic and Preventive Ophthalmology is pleased to announce that Professor Barrie R. Jones, emeritus professor of preventive ophthalmology at the International Centre for Eye Health, Institute of Ophthalmology, London, delivered the first Mohammed Aziz Memorial Annual Lecture on Blindness of the Tropics on Friday, March 11,1988, in the Wilmer Lecture Hall at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. The lecture was entitled "Blinding Disease in the Tropics: Causes and Control."

1987 Alcon Research Institute Prize Awarded.  —Ramesh C. Tripathi, MD, PhD, professor of ophthalmology and visual science at the University of Chicago and attending ophthalmologist at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Oak Forest (Ill) Hospital, and Brenda J. Tripathi, PhD, research associate professor of ophthalmology and visual science and associate professorial lecturer at the University of Chicago, were honored recently by a resolution passed by the Senate of the 85th Assembly
