Abstract

This multiauthored book is based on the International Symposium on the Retina: Clinical and Basic Aspects that was held in conjunction with the Congress and Scientific Meeting of the Chinese Medical Association in the summer of 1983 in Taipei, Taiwan. The book contains seven sections, consisting of 29 chapters. It offers a broad overview of the retina, from both the clinical and basic scientists' viewpoints.

The first part consists of four chapters on retinal structure, biochemistry, electrophysiology, and animal models of retinal degeneration. Part 2 covers the functional organization and development of the retina. The third part of the book consists of four chapters on retinal and choroidal circulatory regulation and vascular diseases.
