—We appreciate Dr Spivack's inquiry concerning our article. Our statement that "the majority of corneas remained clear when they epithelialized by 2 weeks after surgery" was awkwardly stated. To state it more accurately, all of the corneas epithelialized by 7 days after surgery as we indicated in the "Results" section, but the anterior stromal clarity did not clear until approximately 2 weeks after surgery. There was moderate variability in the intensity of the haze and in the time of the appearance of the haze, but these mean times depict the postoperative course reasonably well.We hope this clarifies the findings in our study.
